Welcome to RSVP!

The Capital Region RSVP Program is about marshalling the extraordinary talents, experience and energy of adults age 55 and older for community service.

RSVP serves as a clearinghouse matching volunteers with local non-profit organizations that utilize their skills and talents to address identified community needs. There are nearly 500,000 RSVP volunteers serving in communities nationwide. Their volunteer hours help improve the quality of life for us all.

Here in the Capital Region, approximately 600 volunteers serve in the non-profit organizations that currently make up the RSVP network, contributing more than 100,000 hours and a million dollars worth of service annually to our community.

RSVP has been making a difference in the Capital Region for over 35 years and continues to expand and provide assistance to local non-profit organizations by offering exciting volunteer opportunities to older adults throughout Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer Counties.  Studies show that continued activity and community involvement throughout one’s life can affect your health in a positive way. RSVP volunteers choose what they will do, as well as where and how often they will serve. Many contribute a few hours a week; others give up to 40 hours per week of their time. The decision is yours if you volunteer.
