ExcelleShare is a leadership-volunteering program, which provides experienced adults aged 55+ with opportunities to assist community organizations in improving their capacity to provide services.
Examples of experience which ExcelleShare volunteers might utilize in project assignments could include the following:
- developing strategic and/or marketing plans
- administrative analysis, budgeting and financial systems
- website design and maintenance
- human resource administration
- organizational development
- information technology
- training and team building
- conflict resolution
- event planning
- volunteer management, and/or management consulting.
ExcelleShare volunteers serve on teams that undertake projects designed to help strengthen non-profit organizations while providing exciting and rewarding opportunities for participating volunteers.

ExcelleShare, established through a grant from the National Council on Aging, provides volunteer opportunities through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of the University at Albany’s Center for Excellence in Aging Service. ExcelleShare provides a unique opportunity for mature adults to give back to their community by sharing the skills and experience they have acquired throughout their lifetime.
